In this part of our website, you will find lots of information about energy which is what it takes to accomplish pretty much everything we do in life.

Today, we are at a crossroads regarding energy; what kind we use and how much there will be to use. This means we are at a crossroads regarding our way of life. We are facing multiple global crises all at once: Climate change caused by our dependency on fossil fuels; a human population expanding at a rate of a billion people every 10 years, a global pandemic, COVID 19; and the rapid depletion of our planet’s natural resources.

We are running out of time to balance the imbalance that is now taking a toll on our global environmental, social, and economic systems. We have an obligation to create a livable planet for future generations and must act as quickly as possible to do that in a sustainable way.

This blue marble we call Earth is a very big place. At Sustainable Energy Hawai‘i we believe we can make effective changes toward a more self-reliant future starting right here on this one, isolated, self-contained place in the world: The Big Island of Hawai‘i.
