Stan’s military career spanned 35+ years and culminated as the Chief of Staff and Commander, Hawaii Air National Guard while evolving to focus on energy options for the future.
Additional career highlights include:
Mobilization Assistant to U.S. Pacific Command, J5, Plans and Policy Branch, mil-to-mil engagements for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Oceania.
PACOM’s flag officer - nuclear non-proliferation policy
Master’s degree in International Relations
Director for the Hawaii Center for Advanced Transportation Technologies (HCATT) with a focus on designing the “Future Flight Line” for the USAF, of integrated microgrids, hydrogen fuel cells, and energy storage.
Appointed by HI Governor to coordinate Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative with U.S. Pacific Command.
Managed a $42M Air Force renewable energy portfolio at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
Designated the first “State Hydrogen Implementation Coordinator” in HB 1296 and signed into law by Governor Ige as Act 98.
He hosted a weekly show, “Stan the Energy Man”, on “Think Tech Hawaii” (July 2015 – May 2022) showcasing the world of sustainable, renewable energy
The general is an avid surfer, hunter, marksman, and deep-sea fisherman, and is also a licensed cabinetmaker.
